The Funeral Mass for Fr. Walker was offered on June 20th, 2014 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, outside of Paxico, KS. The Mass was offered by The Very Reverend, Fr. John Berg, Superior General of the Priestly Fraternity of St. Peter, with Fr. Eric Flood, Superior of the North American District, as Deacon. Fr. Charles van Vliet, F.S.S.P., Pastor of Regina Caeli Parish in Houston was present and writes, in part, these words to his congregation:
“… Bishop Emeritus Bruskewitz of Lincoln (NE) and Bishop Olmstead of Phoenix were present along with Msgr. Thornburn from Lincoln… Fr. Walker's classmates served all the rest of the positions in the sanctuary. The Walker Family have a strong faith, and through this most difficult time, have accepted God's calling their son to heaven.
“… The Walkers were moved by all the prayers… Mrs. Walker took (a Rosary given to the family) to touch her son's body so she would have a third class relic…
“The church was packed and there was a large screen in the hall for the overflow. The chant was very beautiful and everyone was praying. The procession of cars to the cemetery was well over a mile long.”
Fr. Berg writes this letter to all friends of the Fraternity regarding Fr. Walker’s death… http://fssp.com/press/2014/06/letter-of-the-superior-general-regarding-the-death-of-rev-kenneth-walker-fssp/
Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him and may he rest in peace.
